Educational trips to Paris are about much more than the Eiffel Tower.
Between the museums, the monuments and the long days on foot, pupils also need space to breathe, observe and learn by doing. This guide gives teachers a ready-to-use 2-day school trip itinerary that pairs the best of Paris with a day of history in Seine-et-Marne and hands-on science at an immersive wildlife park, 20 minutes from Disneyland Paris.
In this guide: a 2-day itinerary · ideas by age group · 2026 and 2027 rates · practical tips for coaches and lunch · FAQ
Teachers planning student trips to Paris usually start with the same list: the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, a river cruise. These are great anchors, but several days in central Paris mean long walks, crowded queues and a stretched budget.
Adding a day just outside the city, in Seine-et-Marne, gives pupils something different: space to move, hands-on science and a break from the city. The area east of Paris is also easy to combine. Disneyland Paris, Vaux-le-Vicomte and Parrot World are all within roughly an hour of each other by coach, which keeps travel time low and teaching time high.
This itinerary is a starting point. Adapt it to your year group, your learning objectives and your coach company's timings.
If your group is already visiting the theme park, you can add a day away from the rides. Parrot World is about 20 minutes from Disneyland Paris and 40 minutes from Paris (Porte de Bercy), so it fits into a longer stay without a long transfer.
Our guide to things to do near Disneyland Paris has more ideas for families and groups, and you can also discover our zoos near Paris and our petting farm.
Parrot World is an immersive wildlife park designed around South American habitats.
On request, a dedicated guide can lead a tour in English for an additional fee per pupil. Free activities, a mini-farm and an XXL playground are included in the self-guided visit.
Whatever the age of your class, the visit can be adapted. Here is how teachers usually use the day.
Keep the day short. The mini-farm, the playground and spotting animals with the booklet's observation prompts are enough for a full day.
Focus on classification, habitats and food chains. Pupils observe how South American species are adapted to their environment, then sort what they see by group and diet. Back in class, the visit becomes a display or a short presentation. It fits science and geography at Key Stage 2.
Add a conservation angle: why parrots are abandoned, what a sanctuary does and how modern zoos contribute to biodiversity.
Use the visit as a case study for biology, geography or environmental science coursework.

Most groups combine iconic landmarks and museums in Paris with a day outside the city, such as a historic château or a wildlife park, so that pupils get culture, history and science in one trip.
In principle, yes. Both are in Seine-et-Marne, roughly an hour apart by road. Plan the château in the morning and the park in the afternoon, and confirm timings with your coach company and the château's school offer.
